When Damage Can't Wait

A supply line under the kitchen sink failed while we were out and by the time we got home water had spread across the kitchen, into the hallway, and under the cabinets. Five Star was at our house within 45 minutes of our call. They extracted all the standing water, used moisture meters to find where it had traveled inside the walls and under the slab edge, and set up commercial drying equipment. Everything was dry within four days and their documentation was ready for our State Farm adjuster before she even came out for her first visit.

A monsoon storm dumped rain faster than the drainage could handle and water came in through the back patio door and across the family room. We called Five Star that night and they had a crew out within the hour. They extracted the water, pulled up the wet laminate, and discovered moisture had traveled under the baseboards and into the drywall. We found mold growing behind the bathroom vanity after noticing a slow leak at the base of the toilet that had been there longer than we thought. Five Star tested the area, found the mold had spread behind the drywall and into the subfloor. They contained the bathroom, removed all the affected material, treated everything with antimicrobial solution, and ran air scrubbers until the follow up air test came back clean. Our USAA adjuster said the documentation was thorough and the claim was processed quickly.
